Finally got around to getting some of my Contour pictures on to my web server. The first set is my Contour buried in the blizzard we had here in NY last weekend. Thought it made for some interesting photos, especially for you warm weather located members.

Can you spot the Contour in this picture?

Here's a shot with half the car cleaned off. Gives you an idea how much snow was on the hood!

Now I've got it so you can at least see the top of the hood.

After 2 hours of digging, the 'tour is finally free to move!

Now for some pics of the throttle body and EGR ports that I took almost 2 years ago. I've had a lot of requests for these pics from a post I had on the topic of how to clean the EGR ports a while back. The web host I had the pics on disappeared, along with the pics. But here they are again! Sorry for the bad picture quality - they were taken with my old crappy camera - I've since got a new better one.

EGR ports plugged up with carbon - fused completely over.

A closer shot of the carbon blockage

Another blocked picture.

Now, here are the ports the way they SHOULD look cleaned up:

Now you can see the three ports.

All cleaned up.

The mileage when I took these pics was about 85k.

Now for some pics of the rear lower motor mount that I replaced two weeks ago. You can clearly see the damage to the rubber inside the mount, which was basically torn apart. The result was the engine was rubbing against the subframe from sagging too much, causing a vibration that could be felt when making right hand turns and under hard acceleration. If your Contour has 100k miles or more, you should check these mounts out. The front mount was toasted too, but I didn't get a picture of it.

The mount on the right is the new front mount, sitting next to the old rear mount. They are slightly different, but it gives you an idea what they should look like new, and you can see how the old one is shot.

Yep, and I'm one of those eastcoasters moving to SoCal this year. I'm moving in 6 weeks to Newport Beach

Can't wait.

So no, it doesn't make me feel better to hear of the earthquake today. I've never experienced an earthquake in my life, but my sense is I won't like them.

That storm was interesting. Looks like we didn't get hit as hard as you guys though.
