After spending about 2 grand(cdn) on my car it's still broken. How hard is it to replace the steering rack? I really can't afford to get a stealership to install a new rack. Any info/feedback would be a great help. thanks

It's tough... and the dealership broke mine when doing tranny work. They weren't happy about having to replace it, but it was their fault!

Not an easy job, you have to drop the subframe, I believe.

When I had a local shop do my clutch ( ), they had a hard time with the rack for some reason......

I don't know if they were stalling, or it was really a PITA.

I had the rack done at the dealer for $800 Cdn. My regular guy said he couldn't do it. what was the problem that caused you to spend $2K?

I honestly don't find $800 to be too bad given the nature of the repair. Way better than what I thought it would be, and cheaper than the $2100 I paid several years ago to rebuild the auto trans on my Integra.
