Ok most of you may or may not know me but I am from the Cougar Boards... I sell some Duratec motor parts but mainly specialize in Cougars at www.customcougars.com

Anyhow the reasoning for my post today is to ask a simple question about what seems to be a very popular Contour (SVT?) Color. That color is Silver. What i need to know is this... Is the Contour Silver the same as the Cougar's Silver Frost, Paint Code TU or TS.

If so, I have a deal pending on some OMP Strut Bars. I had 20 of these bars prepainted to Cougar Silver Frost and am able to offer them for around $129 + Shipping. I would love to pass the deal on to CEG, but would like to make sure the colors are the same, or atleast very close in shapes. Regular OMP Bars come in a bright red and sell for $99 + Shipping (most the time free shipping)

Thanks for your time.

Yes it is the same color. Ford uses the same color on many Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury cars and calls them different colors. Ford even calls the same color a different name depending on which car you buy within a brand. Ex the 1997 Explorer and Expedition were painted the same red, but the Expedition was Laser Red Clearcoat, and the Explorer was something like Candy Apple Red Clearcoat. (I'm not sure if that is the offical Ford name, but it was the same color, with the same code and they did not call it Laser Red) Another example my neighbors Cougar, a Contour my Dad had that was a pool car and my Grandma's Continental were all the same exact Silver Clearcoat Metallic, but Ford simply calls it Silver, Mercury called it Silver Frost Clearcoat Metallic, and Lincoln called it Starlight Silver Clearcoat Metallic. Ford is too cheap to use different colors for Different cars, they may call it something different, but it is the same color. My Dad used to work at the Utica Trim Plant in Utica Michigan, they painted bumpers for all Ford Products, and they used the same white or red or silver on any bumper, no matter what kind of car it was going on.
