I have a question for you guys. Have you seen the performance mod called the tornado? It goes inside of the acordian tube of the air intake. Its pretty much universal but all it is is a piece of metal that spins and is supposed to give you better performanc by funneling the air into the throttlebody. Is this snakeoil or is this for real? My friend has a throttlebody spacer on his jeep and you can see a noticable difference in performance with that but unfortunatly they don't make one for our cars. The tornado works alot like a throttlebody spacer. It is $60 thats why I want to check it out with youguys before I look into buying one. Thanks

Jerry

Snakeoil... definitely snakeoil.

You'd be better off putting a whistle on your exhaust...

We went over this before....there a BIG wast of time and money. Some of the Zetec guys said that it works ok, but from my experience it works decent on large displacemnt vehicals. But its nothing to shout about...nothing worth 60 or 100 bucks thats for sure. This is just my opinion form my personal experiences. Others have had good luck with them. But if it were me, I wouldn;t spend any money on an infomercial.....

I mean come on, how many have been rip offs in our life times?

Good luck with what ever you decide.

Agreed... This has long been debated on NECO, and the general consensus is that it's a p.o.s. Until somebody can show dyno proven results *on a duratec*, I won't be wasting my money on it.

Just for clarification, it doesn't actually spin - the fins are fixed in place and supposedly "swirl" the air as it moves over them generating less turbulence, or at least supposedly that's how it works. There was somebody on NECO who heard a horror story of of one of those metal fins sheering off and getting sucked into the engine. Doesn't sound like something good to me...

My brother has one on his neon and he said he didn't notice any sort of power gain, but he does save a few bucks a month on gas.

So... in roughly TWO AND A HALF YEARSSSSSS... it will have paid for itself..

(Or perhaps its the granny driving he's doing subconsciously because he got something that "saves gas"...)

I put one up my ass and noticed that when I fart, I feel stronger.

My pizza consumption has even been reduced!
