About a month ago my top radiator hose broke. Water went EVERYWHERE under the hood. After I replaced it the engine has been missing REALLY badly. Although it got better as the engine compartment dried out it still misses under a load like acceleration.

I have noticed that it is a BIT (not a lot) better after I took the plug wires out of the little loom that holds them together at the end of the valve cover near the distributor.

Before I go buy a second set of plug wires (the current ones have been on the car approx. 50K) can anyone think of anything else that could cause this?

I removed the "distributor" module and made sure that all the connections were clean and dry.

You might wnat to check that no vacuum hoses got disconnected or loosened around the intake when the rad. hose was replaced. Other than that, unhook and reseat all the electrical connectors you can find and reset the computer for the heck of it. Could have water/antifreeze in the plug wells, although it should evaporate before too long. confused

How do you reset the computer?

It isn't water in the sparkplug wells.
I thought about that.
There was a lot of oil!
I need to replace the valve cover gasket!
