can you clean it and how hard is it?

Do a search! There are a few posts out there on the topic! Some say remove to clean, while others just say replace it! Good luck!

Not that hard to do. The hardest part is removing the bottom bolt (since it is hard to get to). I believe that I removed the EVR to have easier access to removing the IAC.

Remember to watch that you don't drop any parts into the engine bay. And you might want to have on hand a magnetic flex shaft pick up tool and/or long claw pick up tool to get any dropped parts (I've had to use mine a few times).

Cleaning is easy. I used carb cleaner and a toothbrush.

If I would do it again, I would probably use a brass-bristled brush (e.g., a gun cleaning brush) and a more powerful chemical.

Remember to let it dry before reinstalling.
