If anywhere, they will probably rub on the fender liners in the back. Some do, some dont. It depends on the type of tire. They all are a little different. There are a lot of posts about this, try a search

I just tried a search but didn't come up with anything useful. I do have passengers from time to time in the back and the orads around here suck so I am thinking I should go with 215 to be on the safe side. Unless someone can come forth and persuade me otherwise!

I don't want to go any smaller on the walls then 50, the ride gets worse and worse. I think I will stick with 215s just to be on the safe side, I suppose 225's with stock rims will overlap the rim a bit.

E0's came stock with 205 series tires, so anything over that will definitely overlap the rim. 205's don't overlap on E1s at all though. I think most wheel/tire combos are designed to have some overlap...it looks good.
But yeah, lets see some tire models that you guys know for a fact won't rub that are 225/50/16s and are all-season...I'm gonna need a new set in the summer or fall and want to go to that series.

Both E0 and E1 rims are 6.5" wide. So the same size tires will fit. 98.5 and up cars have revised fender liners due to the change from 205/55 to 215/50 tires. Because of this, the chances of 225/50 tires rubbing is less on 98.5 + cars.
Being stock ride height will make rubbing even less of a problem.

I have 225/50/16 Nitto 450s on my E1s and they rub when someone is in back. BTW I have Eibach springs/ST200 struts.

I know a little over lapping looks good. Someone changed my tires before I had the car to 215/50, the same tires as the E1's. They look good like that so I think I will just stick with the same size but different tires.
