Hi,I just joined Contour.org.
Seems full of useful info.
Anyway,I heard that Ford in the US recalled
2.5 Duratecs to have the waterpump replaced.
I'm in the UK and have just bought a Mondeo
2.5 V6.
Anyone know if there has been the same recall
in the UK.
My car has done 20,000 miles.
Thanks.

Hi again, what is the normal operating
temp of the 2.5 Duratec in celcius?
I'm a bit worried about the waterpump
problem,and am thinking about setting
up a digital temp gauge inside my car
to monitor the engine temp,as I heard
you cannot tell when the pump has
failed by looking at the temp guage on
the dash.
Thanks.

Welcome onboard.

Read this thread:

Unfortunately refers to I4 engine.

Audible alarm might be more appropriate mod, since when wp fails temp gauge goes from normal to red zone within a minute or two.
