Alright, before you blast me w/expiration this or that, I have attempted to get the service performed twice in the past before 8/31/02. (Long story) And if you are used to your car being more messed up more *after* you take it to the dealler than before, you understand. I will say that work was started by one dealership before the 8/31/02. Meaning, they took off/out the defroster vent bezel thingy to determine how extensive the warpage was. I have the receipt with the date showing this. This was started by Russ Milne's dealership. That's as far as we got.
So I did what one of the members on here suggested, eh heh. Oh man, I feel an artificial sneeze comin on. ET-CHEW-stazi!... :-) And yeah, this thing is pretty noticeable. At least the 2cm they need for it to fall under a total dash replacement. Ask Stazi, he's seen it. Excellent brake job by this guy, btw
I tried this at the suggested dealer, Jerome-Duncan. God, they're characters there. It's as if they try to talk their way out of things everyday. I remember last time I was there too to get some "warranty" work done. Man, what a pain. I never understand what these guys work so hard to get me to pay when they have to work so much less to get Ford to pay for things they *should* pay for and have *said* they will pay for (or cover).
So I was denied the dash work again. Two dealers attempted. Don't know where to focus my creative complaint energy to now. Suggestions guys? Blue Oval, lawyer letter, what? Does anyone still have the original notice Ford mailed out, btw? Can you scan it? I looked for it everywhere and can't find it.

Call the BBB(Better Business Bureau) if Ford won't pay for your repairs. If you didn't get a recall notice, that's when you should call. I didn't get one so i'm going to contact my salesman and they don't do anything about it, i'm calling the BBB. Ford just now changed my personal info on the computer. They better fix mine and I hope you get yours fixed also.

Well, I don't know if Ford will pay for it or not because if you call that Step 2, and I haven't got passed Step 1, the dealer(s). Still contact BBB in my case? And is it an issue with the dealer or the manufacturer at this point? Remember, Russ Milne started work on it. Started teardown and never finished or put it back together. I just love dealers... We need to have some website for ranking the service experiences of local dealerships... My opinion. Russ Milne, Jerome-Duncan, and Alan Ford are out.

Why would you let them tear it apart and not fix it or at least put it back together? I would not have left if they did that. Why did two places start on not finish. It is not huge job or anything.
Hopefully you can get if fixed up. Not that the fix looks all that well but it is something.
My dash must have been a real winner as, according to OASIS, it was replaced before my car was ever sold. Lol.

One place started work on it. I've taken it, now, to two dealers, though to see if they would do it. You get different answers from different dealers. It seems to all depend on where you go and who you get I think.
The reason I did not let them put it back together is because, one I wanted my car back. I was paying $40 a day on a rental and they were sitting on it for three days and all they had come up with was that the shifter was broke (was in for two issues), and had taken the defroster vent out of the dash.
3 full days. What the hell? I asked them what the holdup was and they said they were low on techs because eveyone was going on vacation over the summer. Hence, they couldn't get much done on my car. Also, this is the second time I had brought my car to this dealer and left it (Russ Milne) for the dash recall. At that point I told them to give me my car back and reschedule me for a less busy period in the future for them to finish work on the car. Well, they had my phone number which is my cell, which I always keep on me, registers missed calls, and that has voicemail and never did I receive a call, get a VM msg, or get mailed anything about finishing the work they had started.
So what now? Contact the owner of the dealership? That's worked for me in the past with another dealer. Contact BBB? Write a letter/contact Blue Oval?
Thanks,
-Bill
P.S. Are there *any* good Ford dealers in out area? I've completely had it with these three. (Russ Milne, Alan, and Jerome-Duncan) I've heard some good reports about Huntington in Rochester Hills, but I have heard they've screwed up some major things too.
