Yesterday I went to remove the rear suspension bushings to grease them (I have the squeak pretty bad), when I was removing the bolt on the u-bracket, the bolt shot out like it was fired from a gun. I have the haynes manual and I don't believe it said anything about having to relieve tension before removing the bolt? Have I missed something or do I just need to get a bullet-proof vest? wink

Pardon my ignorance, I have rarely ventured under the car before.

Were you on a hoist or with just one side of the car jacked up?...if the latter the stab bar is a torsion bar, with one on the ground and the other in the air it will twist...both wheels need to be either hanging or supported ...'one up , one down' will give the condition you discribe....
