I dont know if I would want to try that. Last time I saw water get in contact with the reflective material inside the headlamp the results were less then desireable. Short term the optics werent quite as shiny as normal. Then the reflective material started cracking, then peeling until the lamps were useless.

Granted this was on a GM, but I would think the same would apply to a Contour. Besides, think of the pot needed to fit a 98+ lamp!

Jim I'm not sure if you were referring to me when you said that someone boiled them. I did do that and it worked great
almost no effort to seperate them. I had to do that to my pre 98's for my projectors.

I stand corrected (partly). The water did kill the lights on my old Grand Am. Perhaps GM uses a differnt reflector material?

why can't you just use a heat gun??? I did it on my GF's focus head lights and it worked fine.
