After my new clutch and shift cable, I have had problems getting smooth shifting.. could that have anything to do with the buttheads who put the shift cable in wrong to begin with.. with 5th gear lockout.. assholes! Also, is there anyway to get smoother shifting out of my SVT.. I am feeling at a loss in that department...
Thanks

The clutch may not be fully disengaging. Try bleading the slave cylinder. Or there is a mechanical problem with the parts/workmanship. Is the car difficult to engage 1st or reverse while at a full stop?

Is it only during cold weather? Welcome to the club if it is. I have the same problem. Some peeps remedy it by reving to 2 grand twice in neutral before driving. Doesn't seem to work for me. Some people who had this problem first remedied it with a new clutch, others a new tranny, others with new synth fluid and friction modifier.

I've done the later of the 3 choices. No luck so far.

Best of luck to you,
Ray

Agreed. If it's just a problem shifting to second it's common. If it's grinding going in to second then the synchro may be toast.

What might the problem be if it's hard to get into first or reverse from a stop?

Same problem...Synchros.
Try shifting as the car begins to roll on its own,
or double clutch before shifting into 1st.

Sad thing is, 1st and reverse have been tough since the first day I bought the car.
