I dont know if thats an option only my C(CRAP) Class contour came with or has someone else heard of this...The rear passenger side floor is completly wet every time it rains and it takes about 2 days to go away . And my trunk seems to always have water in the spare tire hole ... Can anyone give me some help or advice or steel my car so i can get insurance money.

I've had the same trouble with the back door. Take off the inside door panel and you will find a grayish foam liner glued to the door. At the bottom of the liner, if you look up from underneath, you will see that there is a gap in the "glue" or whatever it is attaching it to the door. You could try to get some rubber cement type of sealer (form-a-gasket or something like it) in there to complete the seal. I've got to redo mine. Must have done a crappy job the first time! (hey, it was cold!)

A common problem to Contours and Mystiques is the wet trunk. However a little detective work will usually
give the answer. There are two places that water seems to like to enter...around the taillight, or the little
flow-through grille in the bottom sides of the trunk.

My leak was around the passenger side taillight. Remove the taillight from inside the trunk, check the foam
gasket seal...it usually is real cruddy with dirt/mud. Re-attach with some silicone sealer on both sides of the
gasket. Problem solved...unless it's the vent.

If you pull back the trunk liner on the side, look down by the rear of the fender well. You should see a grille
with a rubber flap. Air is supposed to go from the passenger compartment through the slots below the rear
window into the trunk, then out through these vents. The rubber on the outside is to prevent water from
coming in. The only way to remove these grilles is from the outside after removing the rear bumper.

Try the taillight(s) first.

My daughter's '96 Contour has a leak also, but she won't stay out of the car long enough for me to take a
look!

Had the same water problem in my 96. It was the seal (foam) around the plastic airvent on the passenger side rear quarter panel.

Finally got it resealed, not much fun, but doable.
