ok, i just went to get gasoline, and i was coming out of the gsa station, accelerated, and went to stop at my turn, well, the car kept wanting to go, the brake wouldn't like stop the car, and the stupid thing kept trying to accelerate even though my foot wasn't on the pedal.. well i managed to go up my hill and to my street where i shoved it inti neutral and turned the key off. i sat there, put it in park, and then went to start it up again, the car just revs up so i shut it off... what the hell is up with that?

Sounds like the throttle cable is hung up. There is a TSB for 98 tour's about some throttle cable's have a burr on them that cause them to get stuck. I'd have a look at the throttle body and see if it's stuck open, if it is, then that's it. Maybe there is something else to it that someone else will know. Anyway, it sounds like the cable is stuck.
Oh yeah, is the pedal sitting at it's normal height or is it further down to the floor? If it's to the floor, stuck cable.That should also help solving the problem.

yeah it felt like it was kind of down, the car wouldn't stop too good when iw as slamming on the brake.... well, just a few mins ago, after cursing at it, and having my neighbor yell at me, i put the ebrake off and was gunna put it in neutral and roll it out of the driveway into the yard, and as soon as i took the brake off, the car rolled back a bit *always does on the hill* and then it made this noise, and i was like, whatever, left it in park, started it up, viola, the car was fine... i dunno though..

no prob, im just gunna call ford back too, the tranny seems to be leaking also, it's been doing it for about 2 weeks, kind of crappy seeing that the transmission was replaced in um, hrm...late december?

You may want to check the TPS as well. (Throttle position sensor) If it is not getting a proper reading from the throttle body, it will rev up in order to try and get a reading. Hope this helps you out.

That's pretty dangerous, I'd have it towed to a dealer. Your throttle return spring is probably screwed up?

i dunno, i don't think it's the throttle now, the car was winding up at a stop light, then like wouldn't go into reverse , then i dunno, the torque convertor might be screwed up. i dunno..maybe terry can help,

dude - i'm finding you're having a ton of issues with your car! every other post is "I've had it! That's it! It did it again!" just tow it to a mechanic and get it fixed. since your new transmission was put in , you've been having these issues....and now its leaking?  check your fluid to be sure.... later.
