I'm in the process of cleaning the upper/lower intake on my 95 Mystique. I have read the How To: http://www.contour.org/mods/mods.php?s=howto&displayid=17

If I am having no problems with my fuel pressure regulator, should I just reuse it? I have 80K on the car.

If they are prone to go, I might as well replace it since I'm so far in.

Is there any performance advantage to be gained from replacing?

Thanks!

I did this recently and I asked a mechanic the same question. He said that if I have been noticing any surging then I should replace the regulator. It is $40, so I understand your concern. I think my car does cruise and accelerate smoother now, but that could just be from replacing the gaskets.

Fuel pressure regulators seldom give trouble. I would not replace it just for drill.
