Well I'm back from the garage. They can't test for codes either on a 95'. So I'm back to the drawing board. Replaced the PCV VALVE. Also ordered a throttle body gasket.
The mechanic suggested an-- idler motor?? I checked a few other posts--timing belt. I can see the serpintine belt. but I don't find the timing belt HELP
DIRECTIONS, PICS, ANYTHING WOULD HELP.
THANKS

Have you tried looking in the FAQ for pulling the codes from your 95?
Check Engine Light Codes, etc

The rest of your message is rather unclear... more details will help us help you.

First question: When you started all of this, was your CEL on?

If you do have a CEL, then do yourself a favor and get the CEL code read. There are literally hundreds of codes. The odds of you finding the problem without the code are slim to none.

If you have a Walmart near you, check to see if they carry an OBD-I reader for your car. I saw one up at the Walmart where I live for around $25.

Also, from your other post you mention cleaning the throttle body (TB). Did you remove the TB gasket and clean the EGR passage behind it?

If your not sure, then check out http://community.webshots.com/scripts/editPhotos.fcgi?action=viewall&albumID=48338095 to see what I am talking about.

I also posted a how-to at http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=trouble&Number=10673

Geez, if your garage can't scan codes for a 95 Ford, then I'd say it's time to find a new shop that isn't stuck in the 70s.

I mean, I can see not being able to scan an obscure import (like a 94 Hyundai or something), but IMHO their lack of technology is inexcusible. Lemme guess, they only have OBD-II (96+) scanners?

Assuming you are not handy with a paper clip, do youself a favor and get a cheap code reader. Almost any store with an automotive section has them.

Give the intake gaskets a chance, and plan on cleaning the intake while you are at it. The EGR passages in particular.

And you really should get the EGR gasket, the IAC gasket, and the throttle body gasket changed while you are at it.
