I am thinking of converting my rear drums to disc's. Has anyone here perfomed this conversion before? And if so, how much of a pain was it, and what kind of cost am I looking at? Pro's? Con's?

Any and all advice is welcome.

Wow, pictures of my garage! LOL I helped Kinger do the swap and the parts were off my totaled SVT.

How much should one expect to pay for the parts mentioned in that how-to? say from a 30k mile donor car?

I remember that there was a SVT rear suspension (with the crossmember) at a Texas junkyard for ~$200. I was going to buy it when I went to the national meet, but since I didn't go... Anyway, I found it on car-part. It looks like it has been sold, but there are others now. Just look for 'w/crossmember (assm), disc rear brakes (2.5L), SVT'

I was going to do it this way so I could get everything done then unbolt my subframe and slide the new one under. That way there would be less downtime, especially if I ran into a problem.

Any cougar/contour with disc rears will work because the rear brake setup on the SVT is the same as the rest of the CDW27 line.
