terry, since the dealer is installing my new trans assembly in my 2000 svt, how will i know it is the upgraded transmission.

My 2000 SVT has the upgraded MTX-75
Unless you know the serial number code (Terry?) the easiest way is by how much fluid it takes.
Upgraded MTX-75 only takes 2qts. Others take 2.6qts.
Hopefully you'll get a "rebuilt" one and that should include the new parts; however it is possible you'll get a "used" one from the info ScottK posted!!!
That would suck!!! That could also be why some people have multiple failures!!!

thanks for the info demon. im keeping my fingers crossed and i cant hardly wait. i am not to hard on my cars but i like to drive fast and brakes are for wussies. tire scrub is all the brakes you need in the corners!!!!!!!!!

The latest,2000+ / Mondeo style trans has 1)A revised shifter 'tower' that is NOT ally,its plated steel with a cream PLASTIC cover to the shift linkage 2)The reverse light switch is changed and require a 'jumper'(Ford part) to hook up to existing wiring harness 3)Has a lower oil capacity(2 ltrs) due to revisions in the casing castings. 4)Part # tag on the case near the l/h drive shaft should be YS7R-7002-FA or later.
Most of the other changes are internal to the box.With care on this as some dealers could just repair/rebuild & put the latest 'tower' on but the rest is still pre 2000 level.....

JUST GOT WORD FROM THE DEALER SERVICE REP THAT HE WAS MISTAKEN. THEY HAVE NOT EVEN GOTTEN THE TRANS DELIVERED TO THE DEALERSHIP YET! they told me the tech was working on in yesterday. so no svt for the weekend. many appollogies from the dealership but this really bites.
