I tried the link but it didn't work for me...dunno why. It's all good with me! I hope you can believe me when I say my car is a lot faster than I represent it...I suck at drag racing and that was only my second time to the track. I honestly believe that the car is capable of <14.5 with some practice, and maybe as low as 14.1 in the hands of a skilled driver. Granted, the GT can do that without a skilled driver, but when this car is rolling, or on an expressway it has embarrassed several nice cars that included a GT hardtop. In MO at Ft. Leonard Wood, I dusted off a convertible GT. They both could be ATX's for all I know, but that really happened; not to mention the Buick Grand National that I told about that caused me a lot of grief from many people. I suppose I should just shut my mouth unless I have video. warmonger

Who cares if he believes you. Also with the attitude he's shown and responses you shouldn't care either.
I know for a fact it's true. I've driven your car and it's definitely faster than mine. Well than mine was...

A GT is one thing, but a turbo Buick is another... I did not see that thread but I can see that as a tough pill to swallow.

Yeah, and I was quick to point out that we were playing tag on the freeway from Tucson to Phoenix and I didn't win every 60-80 mph romp. But eventually there was a big section of open road and he was in front of me, I took off, went around him and out-pulled him. I hit the top of 4th gear as I pulled next to him, and then pulled in 5th gear to about 130 before I had my rear to his front, and 140mph before it was decisive enough to call a victory by a couple car lengths. I know its on a public road; sorry, but it was empty...and we've all done it at least once. Arizona has wide open spaces with smooth roads. I'll say this much, rolling down the expressway our cars are just about equal, but I had just a little more power. It was argued, etc. that the car was sick, whatever. That car wasn't hurting...it looked totally stock, but it wasn't running bad. I realized that when he first took off and I was eating tail lights. The only thing that lends some credibility was that I was on my way to the dyno at streetflight that day. I was actually on the cell phone with Keyser and DDavis as I was excitedly talking about how this buick was screwing with me. I've lost to many nice cars, a TT 300 ZX left me pretty damn good! I just don't experience any enjoyment when I lose, therefore I don't feel like relating those experiences to others.
On a side note, were you on slicks when you did your 13.8XX run? Without slicks, I guarantee a someone like Demon or PA3L could take my car to the low 14's as is. With slicks and a diff that doesn't blow... who knows how low it will go? Anyway, thanks for hearing me out. Demon is right and I don't have to care about what anyone else thinks as I know what happened, but I am extremely rational and I just want to make the points.

You definitely have the edge at those speeds... GNâ??s are bricks. From a dig they are FAST and consistent though. During 140 and talking on a cell phone is a little nutty though

Both hands were on the wheel, the phone was off when I hit that speed. I called them back afterwards. 245 mm of rubber on those gatorbacks? Nice! warmonger

Don't want to ran on people's parade, but when the majority hear that you have a Contour, what do they think? Do they get the same thoughts as a Mustang, weither it is a V6 or V8? You can tell them how much better an SVT is than a stock Contour, but they still have a mid sized family car called a Contour in their minds. You can put any badge you want on it, beef it up, still just a Contour in the general public's mind. Mustangs do not have that problem. I know that the SVT Contour is nothing like a plain jane, but that is because I am into cars. I was telling my fiance' that some of the SVT Contours run well and her remark "a Contour, who races those cars?" She didn't know so that is what she thought.
My fiance's 99 V6 5 speed next time at the track should run 15.0's-15.1's@91-92 MPH in the hands of this skilled driver. Those passes in the sig were with snow tires and no track prep. Those times should be enough to give alot of cars here problems.
About beating GN's...come on...your talking my Z28 territory now.
