Alright, I washed my 1995 Mystique LS one day, when it was about 20 degrees out, and I had the fogs on while I was in the carwash. When I got hme, and pulled up infront of the garage door, I noticed the fogs werent on anymore. I looked at the switch, and the little D\\\|\\\ on the switch still lit up. I looked at them, and t looked like the were full of soap. Qustion: Why arent they working? I kicked one and it flashed at me (dont ask) is i the bulbs? BOTH bulbs? And if it is the bulbs, how the HECK do you get TO the bulbs? If it's NOT he bulbs, what is it, and how expencive will it be to fix?

It sounds like you have cracked housings for the fog lamps if there was water inside of them. My 95 Mystique LS also had this problem, the bulb might be burned out. To get to the light open the little panel under the bumper at the front corners. In the openning will be your horns and the fog lamps. I would pull the lights and check for leaks. The easiest way is to take the bumper off or more it fornward some to get to the screw and then snake the lamp out. I got quotes from three dealers for $75 to $90 for the assembly, new lamp, bracket and light bulb. What I did with mine was I used some aluminum flashing and a bonding agent to cover the cracks and to re seal the light.

The Mystique fog lamp lenses are crap. I went through a total of 10 (yes 10!!!) lenses on warranty. Well, since my warranty has expired, they have broken again, so I don't bother using them anymore.

Alright, thanks for telling me how to ge to the bulbs. I got them both out, and they're both shattered!?!?! I dont know how that happened, but I guess Ill be making a stop at Wal-Mart to get some new bulbs tonite. What bulbs should I get? The regular bulbs, or different ones? I dont want to melt anything, but I want the fogs to be good for more than just looking good. If someone can help me quick before I leave, I'd greatly appreciate it Thanks!

same problem, noticed they werent working on my tique, took the bulbs out and water came with them, both bulbs were shattered. i bought new bulbs, then one burnt out again. im thinking of just getting some aftermarket sealed fog lamps to put in there place. ive been thru 3 bulbs so far and they are useless as you cant see **** from them anyways.
i used 885 bulbs, they worked a bit better then the 893's. theyare a bit better.

Before you put new lights in you need to pull the housing out and look for leaks. The shattered light is from water getting into the lamp. If you look the filement will be rusted from the water. I wouldn't bother replacing the light bulbs until the lamps are replaces or the crack is sealed. Either way I do not think wal-mart has those bulbs, but I never really looked and I do get alot of stuff at wal-mart(the price is normally good). The bulbs ran me $14 at a auto parts store.

Hey. I had the same problem with my '96 Mystique. The lens were always full of water. So I thought I would tackle the task of taking out the old and putting in new ones. I went to my local Crappy Tire and got a set of $40 (CAN) lights and thought it would be easy. It took me about 3 hours for one because Ford decided to put them in a bracket that is not easy to break. After I finally got out the bulb and found I couldn't use the same bracket. I dremelled the old bracket down to nothing and mounted the new one on top of it. The second one took me half an hour. The fun part of it all is getting your hand in there. The new ones look like stock, in the stock position and aren't yellow. That's all I was looking for.

Well, I went to Walmart and got new bulbs, and they work!! Now, I just need to know if they will stay that way. Im bringing the car to the dealer sometime within the next two weeks to get an oil change, get a spoiler on, put in a new vent in the dash, and fix my fan speed knob (Hard to turn, and you have to press it in if you want it on faster than lo, SOMETIMES it will go on Hi wen its inbetween hi and the next one), so I guess Ill ask about my fogs too. Thanks alot!
