when I hit around 50 mph with my 96 mystique zetec atx it doesn't say at a steady rev. it goes up and down very very slightly but enough to bother me and I know it's gonna get worse sooner or later. what do I need to replace? both o2 sensors maybe? thanx guys.

...condition, when i hit 55 i usually hit cruise control, as i like to take it easy when im not in a rush or have baby in car, and the cruise was on at 55 but revs were at 2750 - 2250 like it was searching four fourth gear, i slightly accelerated and it found its gear at 2250 rpms,
what was up with the searching for fourth gear?
what would make you say o2 sensor, one would think it would be a tranny issue?

well i know my tranny doesn't have a prob cause I have a new one.

any check engine lights or o/d flashing? possible torque convertor clutch slippage..

Not the O2 sensors, definately.
My guess would be the TPS if a sensor issue, otherwise a TC lockup issue.

My guess would be the TPS if a sensor issue, otherwise a TC lockup issue.
Again, any CEL or SES light? If so, you need to get the codes scanned so we have a clue as to what the conditions are.
Without adequate input, any of our guesses are about as good as Miss Cleo's.
