How do I go about making my own MILs for when I gut the precats on my car. it's a 2.5L in a 98, if that changes anything.

If you must gut the pre-cats, just get them from Dallas Mustang or your local performance shop that deals with Mustangs. I paid about $70.00 for them and they have a male/female connection, which makes installation a snap Recently I had to send them back because one was bad and I have a new pair on the way, great customer service! The guy sent me an email telling me to just be careful when installing them because you don't want to mess with the board thats between the male/female connections. All this being said though, its not worth gutting the pre-cats...IMO.

Thats cool for someone whos mechanically inclined, but how about the rest of us. Also do these "homemade" ones have a male/female connection or are soddered in? By the way Dallas Mustang did send me a new pair and I'm getting them today ***Don't gut the pre-cats, its not worth it...IMO***

I have no problem making my own. AS for gutting the precats, it's only because they need to be replaced, and I figure I'll try this first, seeing as it's free, and if I don't like the result, then I'll go and buy replacement parts.

Really? It's not worth getting more power?? What other problems are you having with the gutted pre-cats?? I know it's louder and all, but is that it?? MIL eliminators seem pretty easy to do...

oh, I haven't done it yet. All I was saying was that I wasn't gonna do it for power alone. I'm expecting it to sound better and to provide more power, which I am happily expecting, but you never know...

Yeah... sometimes that extra power is kind of annoying.
