Your Contour is a piece of Junk - trade it in, while you still can.

It has a bad transmission that is prone to failure to the tune of $2000+.
The Transmission, as any Transmission Tech. will tell you, is a CD4E and is a piece of junk.

I've read numerous posts in the archives just from this web site alone (how many Contour drivers are even aware of this site?) addressing the Transmission failure issues.

I had to have my tranny rebuilt at 56,000 miles, cost $2000.
Just got back from the shop (not the same one), guy told me it has to be rebuilt again. Another $2000.
Only got 44,000 miles out of first rebuild. Now at 100,000 miles total on car.

What do I do with a 100,000 mile 97 Contour that's already had the tranny rebuilt for $2000 and now needs another rebuild????????????????

or maybe you are just a bad driver that doesnt even know how to take care of a car. Go buy a Honda, Honda is built for those kind of idiots that dont know how to take care of car or dont give a sh!t about the internals of their car.

Sorry, guess I didn't put 2and2 together that I was in the Contour 'enthusiasts' Group and that most folks probably aren't a member of the group because they're not happy with, or wanted objective advice, about their Contour.

If it were possible, I would delete the post. Maybe the moderator would be so kind?

In the mean time; Look up CD4E or Mazda 626 on the Internet.
