I just say, it can be done, but i would take an extra precaution to minimize vibration on the amp. Use the bushings, and/or maybe even use 1/4" thick foam.. that helps reduce vibrations.

The more I've thought about it. I don't think I'm going to do it. If I need to remove the amp it's going to take a lot more than popping off two wires like the sub. SO I will probably just mount it like I will my 4 channel.

Now what I'm trying to find is some way to mount my box with out bolting it to the floor. I think I found some Motorcycle tie downs with pre-drilled plates on the end and a ratchet. Two should hold the amp nicely.

later,

I haven't run any of my cable yet but if you searched you would have read that on most tour's there is a rubber gromet on the upper drivers side of the fire wall. You have to pull off the Wiper houseing and you will see another gromet that goes into the cabin!

Phoenix Gold QX2180 and a USAcoustics 2200 and a USAcoustics USL4085 bolted to a box holding two Clarion Pro Audio X2 12" subs - One year, subs went pop...

Same Phoenix Gold amp and USAcoustics 2200 amp bolted to a box containing a single Clarion Pro Audio X2 10" sub... Three months, sub VC melted

Same Phoenix Gold amp and an Alpine MRV-T757 bolted to a box holding the PB15

maybe you should get the flat 1/0 cable from knukoncepts. it doesn't give that bluge in the carpet like the round cables do.
