The constant Barrie snow and the impending move have forced us to trade away our fast and sexy ZX2. It was quite enjoyable to have both of Ford's Euro engines in the family, at least for a little while. Necessity and planning for the future have dictated the need for a larger vehicle.

Hopefully, I'll get a chance to post some pictures of our new Explorer Sport before I leave for Calgary on Monday. If I don't get a chance to see you guys before I leave, I'd like to express my thanks and best wishes to all of you.

Good Luck with everything Dana. Hope to see you on here still after the move. Thanks for all the help in the past. I'm just sorry I never got a chance to see the ZX2 and perhaps give it a spin. Mostly because the ATX one I had was resonable on its feet but not the fastest. I was just curious to see the difference first hand.

Too bad. If you had gotten an Escape, you could have stayed "European" as UK gets it as the Ford Maverick

It's sad to see you go Dana. You've made a lot of contributions here on the board. I do hope you drop by and postwhore from time to time.

Best of luck to you and your wife in Calgary!

To tell you the truth, I didn't really like SUVs either not too long ago. But when I had a chance to sit in one, enjoy the view, features, comfort and power ... well ... let's just say it's far more suited to where I'll be living and future than a ZX2.

The ZX2 will probably outshine the Explorer in the summer, but now I can actually put stuff in the back of our other car, like groceries! That, and I can haul my luggage around now without having to remove any stereo equipment. This sport truck will also handle the snow (Barrie saw the sun for the first time in 6 weeks yesterday!! yay!!) a lot better. And of course, the truck will definitely be one of those rare ones that actually goes off the road!

I still have my 17" wheels (they're on the car right now), but I have sold some of my old 5.0L parts. I don't have time to strip my engine down unfortunately, so I won't be able to get rid of any of the "good bits" yet.

It's a different world between Maverick and Explorer Rich, trust me. The Escape is a car chassis with a truck body, the Explorer is a truck through and through. I'm happy with it, apart from the gas mileage which will get better the more I drive it (have to get used to driving a truck). So far, I'm on par with the CAFE Ratings. I would be afraid to use an Escape out west so far. Perhaps on my next turn-around I'll get a smaller SUV, but I know now one will always remain in my driveway.

I'm counting the days until I can have the keys to my Jag now. Looks like about 700 to go, or 23 more payments on my tour.

Here are some pics of the new truck:
