Use a screwdriver to pry the housing apart.

I had to hit mine hard with a hammer to get it to break free.

try using a heat gun. The heat will eventually soften the selant enought where it will break free and allot easy removal.

a screwdriver will work, but be careful not to gouge up the housing or it may not seal properly.

There is a notch between the two parts of the WP. on the top of the WP, that is large enough for a large screwdriver blade to fit in. Just put a screwdriver in and twist. Unless you hammer it in you won't come near the sealing faces.
Don't hit the thing with a hammer! When all the bolts are removed the whole WP assy is loose, so hitting the front of it won't break the seal from the main housing.

Yes, the whole assy is loose. Yes, hitting it hard will break the seal. I know it does, I had to do it. I was more concerned with damaging the mating surface of the rear assy by prying with a screwdriver so hitting the front assy (which is going in the bin anyway) is the lesser of two evils. 2000 miles on the new pump w/out probs so.....
