Ford North America has their head too far up their A$$ to see what people want. The last time they looked it was big Fing SUV's so that's what we get.
No, its because they don't meet the federal regulations that jacka$$es let pass . . . And last time I checked, SUV's were selling quite well, so it seems that someone here in North America wants them . . . While "performance cars" tend to linger on car lots unsold for longer than the SUV's. It is a sad, but true story.

Don't be so quick to give up hope; with the addition of the Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO to the north american line up, I'm betting that Ford will be watching sales of that car very closely with the Falcon in mind. At first glance, the cars seem to be in a similar class...

The Monaro is due for a redesign anyway, now they are doing so that it meets US crash specs as well as the Aussie ones. Then to meet emissions laws, they are putting in an existing engine. So now, they have a 2 door rwd 2+2 coupe. See, GM has a hole in th linup now, because the Camaro and Firebird/Trans-am are gone. What would ford hope to gain by bringing the falcon over? A 2 dr rwd 2+2 coupe w/ some decent power? hmm, i think they already have one of those, and its soon to be on a redisigned platform as well. I like the falcon (especially the hot versions) as much as anyone else, but I also understand why it isn't here.

Because North Americans are facinated with big trucks, vans and SUV's that's why. Why else do you think car sales are down. My only hope is that European Gas prices come to this side of the Atlantic and calm down this craze and with the way GB Jr. is going that wont be long.
