"A hooting or moosing noise after engine deceleration to idle may occur on some vehicles, primarily those equipped with manual transmissions. This noise is noticeable when the driver decelerates by removing their foot from the accelerator pedal in the 3000 to 2000 rpm range. Continued deceleration to below 1500 rpm may occasionally result in a stall in the
near idle speed range. This may be caused by a resonance occurring within the air intake system."

In the description of the TSB for Moosing it states its for 95-97 Contiques. Could it be for E0 98 SVT's as well? I ask because I have a problem very similar to this on my SVT. It also says that a different, newer TSB deals with SVT's. So will the TH fix (copper cap) the moosing and stalling in them as well? Thanks

Yes. My SVT experienced the moose and the TH plug solved the problem.

Mine never stalled but it sounded like a big tuba playing under the hood of my SVT.

What I do is to clean and lubricate the IAC valve once or twice a year.

showtime, do you have the old resonator assembly or the one hose type (from IAC right to intake pipe)? http://www.contour.org/FAQ/tsb/img/TSB-97-22-3.jpg in the picture is yours the dashed out one or the "New Hose"?

I've got the post-TSB setup, and it has started moosing this winter. Dunno if it is 3.0 related or just age of the IAC, but cleaning didn't fix it, so I have a new one on the way. I have rough cold idle and it stalled twice yesterday on the way to school.
