The relay under my dash is clicking also....nothing from the solenoid in the trunk...just dead silence when you hit the button. I'm guessing that's where I need to concentrate my attention

The latch on the trunk itself doesn't look like it can be adjusted. Appears to be welded right to the trunk lid. It closes smooth, nothing catching. There's a little paint off the latch, but, nothing more than norma where and tear.

That may be my problem...a broken actuator (or solonoid...not sure yet). If it is the actuator, or solonoid...is it possible to fix it myself. Does anyone know where the two are located (or where I can find a web page that shows it)? I don't really feel like paying Ford $400 to fix something simple.

Solenoid for trunk release is located to left of trunk latch striker plate on car body, not on trunk door(deck lid). You have to remove trim piece at bottom of trunk opening to see it and remove trunk latch striker plate to remove it. There is an electrical connector for the solenoid towards trunk botttom below latch if you wish to check if power is being received from remote module located in glove box area.

Got mine fixed....solenoid had jammed up and got stuck...apparently when the MIL slammed the trunk lid down it screwed up the mechanism.

Read my post above re location, if not clear PM me and I'll try to explain with greater clarity. Just got digital camera so I may be able to email a pic later today, assuming I can learn the camera > computer > email process quickly.

I hear the solenoid in my click but the trunk doesn't open. Any idea how I can adjust this? I literally have to have one hand on the trunk lid and lift when I hear the solenoid.

I'm such a bonehead...I wasn't looking under the metal. I found the solenoid...it was a pain in the arse to remove...but once I did....I opened it up and found that the gears were jammed up. I cleaned the connectors (they were covered in grease) and I re-aligned the gears and then re-assembled it. That took about 5 minutes. Then before I re-installed it. I plugged it back in to test it out with the remote....worked perfectly! So I just re-connected it back to the lock mechanism and voila...done! I saved myself about $200 that I would've paid Ford for a new solonoid and the labour. THANKS A LOT EVERYONE!
