I am wondering how much is ionvolved in switching to a split rear seat. I aasume the seat bottom doesn't have to change.

Bill;

I've wanted to do this for long time, did a lot of research and came out with the following:

To buy parts at a dealer ou will spend a fortune for nothing ..close to 600-700 $ at least . Your best choice would be to locate one at a car yard and take the components off. what you will need will be :

the back seat cushions, the back seat cushion bracket ( plastic corners that hold them onto the hinges, the hinges at the bottom, the locks that clamp them in placein the rear deck and afew little things here and there, very simple ( possible) change, if you find a clean one.

I was cheap lastsummer I was going to get the complete thing for $100 and thought it ws too much . I wish I did it. Although I never needed it I think it would be a nice addition to the car.

I've looked into doing this also. Through the dealer, it is just way to expensive, IMHO. It was going to be almost a thousand $$$ for the parts and new seat back and side boulsters! You would be better off to search the salvage yards for a folding seat that matched before you go get the parts from the dealer!
