Yeah you should have two U shaped pieces of metal that slip into the holes on either side of the radio. You just push them in and yank it out. It just takes some work to get it out. good luck

In an effor to help elaborate on the previous posts... You need what they call a "Single Din" radio removal tool. Two seperate pieces of metal, each shaped into a "U" shape. The sides of your factory radio have these two holes in which you press the "u" into, and pull out.
You can pick up this tool at (most conveniently) Wal-Mart.. less than $5..
Hope this helps.. Ray

i was able to borrow the Ford keys from a SAAB dealership (they have the same thing), but I still couldn't get it out. I ended up destroying the old factory CD player to get it out. I ripped all the pieces off that I could and then used a pair of pliers to finish it off. Felt gooooooood Hope you have more luck.

Get a wire coat hanger.
Cut off two 6 inch long pieces.
Bend the pieces in the shape of a U.
Locate the holes at the corners of the head unit.
Insert one 'tool'about 1/2 inch into the upper and lower left side holes, the other in the upper and lower right side holes.
While pulling outward (toward the doors) on the 'tools' to release the latches, work the head unit out of the dash.
It fits snugly so it make take some convincing, but it will come out without damaging the dash or the head unit.
