Not you too , Steven !! I guess we can still let you come to our local meets , as long as you give out rides in yer Cooper !!! It's really a shame that you're getting rid of it , you've had a good run with that car so far ... except for that "car wash incident" (and that wasn't the car's fault) . I HOPE you're getting the "S" & not settling for the "regular" Cooper . What color do ya have ordered ??

I'm planning on a Chili Red Cooper(not S)with the Black roof and mirrors. Also with the black cloth interior. The reason I'm not getting the S is mainly financial.I'm not paying over $500/months for a Mini,no way. Also, most of the problems the Mini's are having is with the "S".I know if I wait, the quality issues will be fixed, but by that time the Contour will be worthless for a trade in.
The Contour's been a great car,the best Ford I've ever had.The first Ford in 15 years that the aircon is actually still working. She had 55,500 miles on her now,and other than getting lousy gas milage, she hasen't skipped a beat.

Well , I can see your point about the large payment . Are you sure it'll be that much ?!? That's jag territory ! It's true , they've seen a bit of trouble with the 'S' , but few , as I've heard . The Cooper (non-S) will still be fun , but it seems that you deserve the 'S' !! It's more in the range of the SVT on the "fun-per-mile" gauge .
Oh , and BTW - The SVT is probably already worthless on trade-in !! J/K !

Allen, Allen, Allen, you're so negative!! LOL I'd wait for the S personally but know what? You might be able to get the supercharger as a package later. Might be worth checking out. And I'd get the cheapest wheel option you can get - hubcaps galore. Take the money and get lightweight 15's - heard those cars are dogs b/c the wheels are heavy. LUCK!!

The reason the payment will be so high is a comination of the SVT trade-in being worthless, and that I will still owe $9,000 on her at trade in time.If it wasn't for this,I would get the "S".

Yea , if ya still owe that much on it , you'll only net a couple grand as a trade-in . That sucks . Like John said , maybe you can get 'charged later , or maybe not . Good luck with the MINI !

I'm not slamming you or anything Steve (you know I got nothin' but love for ya) but why does everyone think they have to trade in cars?? Hasn't anyone heard of private sellers/buyers? Steve, I know there's lots of people that are looking for SVT's and they'd most likely jump at the chance for a $9k SVT! (Heck, maybe even a $10k, giving you a grand to put down on the Coop!)
Just some thoughts peoples...

Hi John
I am going to post it in the market section for sale. The problem is,the bank owns part of the car as well.So any payment I get has to go right to the bank. The the bank has to pay off the loan and issue me a title. Then I have to take the title and get it transfer to the new owner. It could take a couple of days to a week to get the title, and I am not letting anyone take the car without getting the title transfered.I have the feeling that someone who hands me $10,000 to buy a car will want to take it before I get the title.
If I could sell the car outright,I will buy an Mini S.I'll bring it to any LSHOC or Contour meetings.
