Hi there. I have a '98 Mondeo with 2.0 ZETEC engine and manual trannie. I had the car second hand. So I do not have the maintenance and repair manual nor the dealer could supply it. Can anyone tell me the trigger belt replacement interval? My idiotic dealer told me that I should replace the belt, the pulleys and bearings on every 60,000 km (~40,000 miles), however, I remember that once I saw on a board in the dealer that those should be replaced on every 100,000 km (~60,000 miles)for zetec engine.

Also, where can I find an OBD-II scantool??

Thx...

My apologies, but I'm not sure what you mean by "trigger belt"; my British->American translator book is misplaced If this is the serpentine belt, I just had mine replace about 10000 miles ago, and I just rolled over to 60,000 miles. The mechanic told me it was in very bad shape and would have failed soon had he not caught it (the car was in for other repairs).

For an OBD-II tool, go to http://www.obd-2.com

Well O.K. I think I made a mistake. I should say "timing belt" instead of "trigger belt". Sorry...

60k miles is normal interval. The tensioner should be replaced also as it tends to go bad and is only a little more expense. The tensioner is the spring loaded block with a pulley on it.
