Ok... I have read about the moose and researched it on this site....everyone has mostly said that it happens when the a/c is on...well, I have the sound like fog horn...it happens for about 10 seconds then stops..but the a/c isn't on...could this be the moose???? If not, then what else could it be???? Any help would be greatly appreciated... TIA

my car was making that same noise when i picked it up from the dealer the day i bought it. they pulled the codes and found a faulty IAC valve. replaced it and voila, no more moose sound. ...and man is that sound ANNOYING!

I had it in the dealership recently for a vaccum line and the maf..wouldn't they have been able to tell that the valve was bad?? So I take it is the moose...I just wanted to check cause everyone talked about the a/c...everytime I hear that sound I say "hello mr. moose!" laugh

I unfortunately have Mr. Moose honking out of my car, it confused me for a couple of months, I thought it was everything from the tranny to the exhaust to the power steering ;-) (This was before I was educated in contours and well, cars in general) Anyhow, now that I have mr moose captured, how much does the IAC problem cost to fix? I don't want to get soaked on this!
