hey , the indiglo light on my clock went out about a month ago , and then randomly went on , and then off again . I took it apart , cleaned the contacts, and finally decided it must be the bulb, so I went to about 6 different stores to try and find a replacement, NO LUCK , and we broke the bulb in there messing with it. If you look at the bulb , it has a black housing around it . Do I have to replace the whole thing , or should the actual bulb pop out of the little black housing? Is this a Dealer replaced part only? Thanks Griffin

I replaced just the bulb about a month ago. Ford didn't have one but I found one at a parts supply store. The old bulb had a green rubberish sock (I guess for color) that I had to put on the new bulb (clear) as it was too bright. Hope this helps, John

Do you remember the part number, my clock just died a few weeks ago, and it wasn't a priority to fix it.

You can buy the bulb and holder from the dealer. Depending on the dealer, it is usually less than $5.00. For that price, I don't know why you would want to fool around with soldering in a different style of bulb.
I do remember someone posting that they were able to find a replacement bulb without a holder from an auto parts store. I was not able to find one and I was not able to remove the old bulb from the holder.

sounds like it's the same as high mount stop bulbs. (howto says use 74, which i used for my high mount (((thanks CBM)))) i broke the bulb in the little holder, but i work up the next morning and my mom had gotten the bulb out using tweezers. if you work on it long enough, you may be able to get the bulb out.

That's exactly what I did about a year ago - paid about $5 at a dealer for the bulb that nobody else offered.

An intermittent clock light sounds like the filament in the bulb is broken. The light only comes on when the two ends of the break happen to come in contact with one another. This prior post has the part number and more info you may find useful. This, with the article in the link in the reply above, is everything you need to know.
