its time.... time for some rims and since spring is right around the corner i started looking at some already. He is my problem not to sure wheather to go with 18's or 17's. The reason i want 18's is because they are a statement but the roads around here suck! so what do you guys think/suggest and what size would you go for?>

I got 17" because our PA roads suck too. I was afraid I'd be bending rims left and right with 18s. I'm selling my 17" rims/wheels because I'm also selling my SVT, if you're interested. Pics at http://user.pa.net/~pkmitch2555/svt.htm

I've been on my 18's since June and I haven't regretted it at all. I live up in Northern Westchester and drive through the Bronx, over some very hairy expansion joints and potholes, to NYC every day. I've hit some monsters and was sure that I bent one, but haven't suffered a scratch yet. The ride is definitely harsher on 18's. It's noticeable when I hit some of those joints and think that my dashboard is going to explode, but it hasn't been harsh enough to make make me regret them, even for a second. I had the exact same concerns as you when I was choosing my wheels. I suggest the 18's for sure, you'll wish you went bigger if you go with the 17's. I know I would have.

Just make sure you get a quality wheel that can handle some abuse, not some junky 18's made of a softer metal. I'm on OZ Superleggeras and have loved every minute of 'em.

My friend has the stock 17" on his Sentra SE-R spec V and already bent 1 rim in less than 1 year. I think 18's would be OK if you went with a forged wheel, which are not only are stronger but lighter than cast wheels.

I think you should get the car running right, before you get some wheels...

Just my opinion.
