I have had a CEL on and off for about two years now. Originally, the Ford dealer told me that I needed intake manifold gaskets. Anyway, I finally had my neighbor's gas station check it out and they said that it was an old P0420 code and that we should wait and see if it comes back. They checked the wires and voltages and everything was good - for now. I just searched the forums and it looks like I probably need a lower O2 sensor.

My question is - what brand to buy? I have heard that some of the after-market brands tend to cause the CEL to come on. I have not compared prices but is it worth it to buy from Ford? My neighbor replaced my water pump with a new one from NAPA - what brand do they sell?

Also, would you recommend replacing both lower O2 sensors or just one?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks - Dave

I prefer Bosch, but you may have a cat going out.
