It seems all my promlems have come on all at once. My car has about two inches of play in the steering wheel. These have all started happening after I had Ford replace the tranny under warranty. Any suggestions?

If the play was in your steering immediately (when you picked the car up from the tranny repair), you need to take it back to the dealer for checkout. They may have either left something loose or reinstalled something improperly.

If it's still under warranty, the choice is a no-brainer.

check out the transmision mount that is right under the airbox. replacing this seemed to get rid of quite a bit of steering slop for me.

What I found this morning after reviewing other post was that my rear mount was shot and the bolt running through it was sheared off so maybe that'll fix it guess I'll find out next wed when it comes in.

The dealership did the same thing during my tranny work -- there was a loose bolt on the steering column spindle. It had about 2 inches of play.
