My '98 SVT has been a great car so far, except for the fact that it has recently developed a growling noise when going over bumps and turning. The weird thing is that it only does it at 4000rpm on up. The other thing is that no matter if I have it in gear(clutch pushed in) or if I have it in neautral and rev it up in the upper rpm I hear this clunking noise like metal on metal. Do you think this could be the tranny hitting the subframe as described in prev. post? This is my first FWD anything so coming from strictly mustangs I've never encountered this problem before. Also has anyone ever tried to install the msds headers w/out dropping the subframe? Are they worth it?
