Great tire!

I have Toyo Proxes FZ4 in 215/45ZR17. I love them and they are pretty good in the snow.

I usually drive the Buick in the snow, but I had the kids and the carseat works better in the Contour with shoulder belts in back, than it does in the 87 LeSabre with lap belts only.

Hey I will chime in here. I have Nitto 225 40 17 on Rage 5.0's and I love them. They handled great on the track at Mosport and IRP. The first 2000 kms they squealed a bit too much but since then have been great for grip.
I used the tire selector tool on the miata site and it told me that the 225 40 17 was an overall shorter wheel and tire combo. The other day i switched my 17's off an put the worn out 16's back on for winter storage and noticed that the KDWs on the 16's were in fact overall shorter than the 17s! Go figure. I guess there is a lot of variation from tire to tire. Also the 225's were not much wider than the 215's. But there could be many factors contributing to that.

The best tire size to go with (wider, keep low profile, a little toward OEM) is 225/40/17.

Ive read great reviews about the Nitto NT555, and it comes in that size too. You can get it from www.discounttiredirect.com for $130 each. 300AA isn't too shabby either.

iirc, the best tire size closest to oem is 215/45/17. thats the size i'll run after winter is over. my kdw's were pretty shot when i switched over to the snows. it throws of the speedo the least.
