this morning, my wife and I got ready to take a small trip to pick up grandkids, when my wife started to clean junk out of her side, she picked up the rubber floor mat, and that section was full of water, strictly water, nothing else. It has been raining here off and on quite a bit, but this has never happened before. she put towels down to soak it up, but after 250 mile trip it was still soaked, with the floor heater on. Anybody got any ideas on this. appreciate any help, thank you.

99 zetec with a high mileage, just turned 10000, but still sound except for this weird stuff happening. thanks again

are you totally sure it was water...past experiences have shown that to be a heater core..

Although I have a 95 (which may not help you), I am dealing with this problem right now. My problem was not related to the heater coil, as it is just water. I had the evaporator box resealed, the replaced (because there was a TSB for a redesigned box. You may just need to have your evaporator box resealed. That fixed my problem when I first had the car in '98. Good luck.

Had the same problem that is now fixed. you need to seal the plastic housing where the cabin air filter housing mounts to the firewall at the base of the winshield. Probably time to change the filter when you are under the cowl anyway.

have had a similar problem, seems to be that with wind & rain coming from certain directions or angles to the car, the water works in under the passenger side front door. I've seen it once when I hadn't driven the car for a few days. I was able to actually follow the "trail" of water. In 4 years of ownership, it's happened maybe 3 or 4 times, and certainly not to the extent that you've had it. Funny, but I've not been able to duplicate it with a carwash. Hope this helps.

contours, deloreans & fiats, oh my!
