i had a problem similar to that with a 4x4 silverado i used to own..only it was the drivers seat that was doing it..i left the red light to hard one day and it went 'bang' and my seat got loose as hell...come to find out...chevy did (censored) work on the frame of those seats...check were the seat frame is attached to the bottom of the seat itself...look any kind of cracks in the frame...my mechanic fixed my in about 30min with a wire-feed welder...all i had to do was by him lunch....look for cracks....that sounds like its fixing to break...

My car does this as well, I thought it was just me. With my car it doesn't matter whether someones there or not, any REAL ideas would be greatly appreciated

I get the same thing from time to time. Always goes away when pressure is put on the seat (someones in it). Wondering if it couldn't be the rails underneath. The seat motion always feels sloppy when I move it. Never really checked though.

I know my passenger seat seems really tough to move. I'll take it apart sometime in the next week and see what I can come up with. I need to check to see how bad my drivers seat rail is also, it has the notorious sliding around problem.

Same here. My passenger seat is always a PITA to move forward/backward.

Same exact issues with my pass. seat, bugs the crap out of me! Fortunately, my wife and I started car-pooling to work, so I don't hear it as often, but it's still there.

Since it seems I'm far from alone in this irritation, I'll definitely post any findings I come across. If it takes me a while, I may even PM those of you w/ the issue just to make sure you get the fix

I get the same noise from my front passenger seat. Any findings yet?

Me too! The noise I hear sounds like something is loose on the passenger side. Mine also goes away with a passenger in the seat. Cloth seats as well. Very strange.

Sorry guys, nothing yet. I was busy this weekend fighting this instead. Maybe this week or weekend I can rip out the seat.
