I am clueless as to where in the hell the water pump is, can someone tell me?

Get under the car, and look torwards the passenger side (right next to the a/c compressor). Look for the lower radiator hose. Once you find it that (lower radiator hose) is where the radiator goes into the water pump.

The waterpump is in the center of the engine on the passenger side, and a real pain if you have to change it. You have to pull alot of parts off to get at it.

why? is it not accesible through the fender well access panel?

well you should be able to get at it from under the car but it is behing the timing belt covers. From what I remember it looks like you basically have to take the timing belt off to get at the water pump, but i don't really remember. I think that is why everyone says to change it when you change the timing belt since everything is opened up already
