I've developed an oil leak on the 'tour (86k miles) which I believe is more than likely the oil pan gasket. Dropping the y-pipe today resulted in four broken bolts - two on the y-pipe to cat flange and two on the y-pipe to rear bank manifold flange. My question(s): are the studs on the rear bank exhaust manifold flange (manifold to y-pipe connection) pressed or threaded into the flange? Are replacements available at the dealer or should I scrounge the muffler shops? Advance thanks for any words of wisdom!

There are screw-in studs mounted in the rear bank exhaust manifold.

There are press-in studs mounted in the Y-Pipe flange for the front exhaust manifold.

There are 2 or 3 (depending on flange) press-in studs mounted into the flange on the converter itself.

So actually you broke 2 of each.

You can probably find replacement screw-in studs as close as you local ACE / Westlake hardware store.

They are M10x1.50 & are offset. 20mm thread/10mm shank/45mm thread

The converter studs can just be pounded out and replaced with: 1 bolt, 1 nut, 2 large washers & 1 lock washer. (found at said hardware store)

I will give ACE some business today then. Thanx on your quick and specific reply - proving how much this website (and its members) rocks! Now, on to extracting the broken bolts from the manifold...
