I was wondering what some good speakers would be. I know this opens a wide range of opinions, and it's not the easiest question to answer, but I want a good, perferably name brand, speaker under $150 (per set) that has plenty of bass, and good highs. I've looked at Pioneer TSA-6867's (3-ways) and Alpine SPS-5729's. I'm open to anything else that will fit, though. Tnanks.

Why do you prefer name brand? You will only end up spending more money than you need to. You could get "non name brand" stuff that is three times the quality for the same price. I had Alpine's next to top of the line series and they suck compared to the stuff from Vifa and Peerless along with others. This is the same thing I told you last time you asked about your car stereo. Don't waste your money on a logo!
BTW I've also run alpine's SPS speakers and they are not that good, I'd rate them just a bit better than bad.

Do you consider Peerless, Vifa, Scanspeak, Seas, LPG, Eton brand names? Just trying to get a feel for what you are looking for. Good brand names like above, or low end brands like Pioneer?
You can probably get some Bose speakers that will sound like a piece of dog crap that came to life and tried to sing with a mouthful of poo.

Dave quit hyping up Bose! You know damn well they are worse than hitler singing with a vice grip on his testicles and getting a broomstick shoved up his ass!

Personllay, I am quite content with my Eclipse speakers. They run for around 130 a set. But you won't get a whole lot of bass out of any normal speaker. That is what a sub is for.

By name brand I mean anything but the really cheap brands (no Jenson or Audiovox). What about Infinity 572.5cf's? They're about $150 per pair. Anyone have these?

I dunno man, you can grab yourself a pair of Jensen coaxials from Wally Mart for $10!!! Think about it, for $100 you can have 10 pairs of crap grade speakers an impress most people in the range of 10 years old to 14 years old! You could also always get bullhorns and tape them to the A and C pillars! Maybe by a couple Bose Waveradios and screw them to the ceiling, after all they are like having a concert wherever you decide to put them. Question, if I put a waveradio in my pants, does that mean I have a concert in my pants? If so, do I have to use my penis to conduct? Another question, what is the maximum safe number of twinkies one can eat in a single sitting? And do I really have to sit to eat them? The End.

a pair of these: http://www.speakercity.com/cabasse/tc_21.shtmlOr a pair of these in the kicks: http://www.speakercity.com/cabasse/bc_12_scs.shtmlwith a pair of these http://www.speakercity.com/accuton/C2%2092.shtml in the doors. For what you are describing as your needs, the infinity's would be the way to go if you want a simple drop in speaker. Using some custom crossovers (which can be made with the most limited of soldering skills) with some peerless CSX mids and tweets would be my choice for that price range.

Great deal going on at www.mmxpress.com right now for Crystals. You could get 2 pairs for $124. Check out the Crystal CXe570 5x7". They've got outboard crossovers and would likely be my choice for bang for buck for drop-ins.
