Today I got the idea that I can make the "SPORT" light on the dash light up. I put two wires going from under the ABS bulb to under the "Sport" bulb. I turn the key, nothing lights up but I hear a click. I blew the Engine Control Management fuse (#30 under the dash) so I replace it, tear apart my wires since I knew that's what caused it, and put it back to normal. Well, now when I start my car, my ABS flashes 3 times and goes off (It's supposed to stay on 3 seconds and then go off) and, you know those 3 clicks that you hear when you turn the key to the ACC position? It flashes in sync with those clicks. My ABS still works, though. I thought since the ABS worked I'd just forget about it. Well then I had to go pick my GF up. As I was sitting waiting for her, I was listening to the radio, and I was going to turn the car off so I don't waste gas. I turned the key to the ACC position, and my car STAYED ON! The gauges went off (meaning the tach went to 0), but the ABS lamp came on and the engine stayed running. HELP!!! Are there any more fuses that could have blown?

Do you have a manual for the car with wiring diagrams? I'd check that first, then check the diagnostic codes. Maybe something is screwed up? At least you blew the fuse for the ECM and not the ECM itself.

I don't have anything like that. I hope I just blew the fuse, it's kinda making me wonder, though, with how the car is acting. I just want it back to normal, my Mystique is my baby!

Go to a library and get a chilton manual or similar catalog. That's what I always do instead of buying one. They should have tests and stuff you can do to troubleshoot the problem.

OK, I just unhooked the battery to see if clearing the computer would help. I also noticed a few more things, the car ONLY stays on in the ACC position if you drive it for a minute or two, otherwise it will go off and the ABS just flashes 3 times and stays on. But if you drive it for a minute or two, then put it in the ACC position, the engine stays on, the ABS flashes 2-3 times and stays on, and, here's the strange part, if you open the door, the engine will shut off. I hope this fixes it, if not, of to the Ford dealer I go

Didn't work. On, it wasn't the Engine Control thing fuse that blew, it was the Engine Management System fuse, which is still fuse #30 in the interior fuse box. Does anyone know what could be wrong? If I don't get it fixed tonite, I'm calling the dealer tomorrow. I hope it's not going to cost that much, I'm pretty much broke right now because of Christmas...

No can do, the 6000 needs a battery, and the WS6 is just too damn dangerous for the condition of the roads, A LOT of ice with snow on top. My Grandma is borrowing me her '03 Navigator until I get a battery or get the Mystique fixed..good LORD that thing is huge

Without wiring diagrams, it would be next to impossible for you to trouble this! From the way it sounds - you caused a short, which of course blew the fuse, and that short could have messed up all sorts of things. Very possible the 'puter!

As for the ABS light blinking, you may have also damaged the ABS control 'puter as well, but most likely it is the ECU. ABS just is not getting the proper signal from the ECU with then causes the ABS light to flash signaling a problem in that circuit.

I have search for a while and cannot find a list of codes for the ABS anywhere!! AAGGHH!

The ABS works fine, I tried it. EVerything on the car works just like it normally should, ABS, TC - everything. The only thing is the ABS lamp flashes with the underhood clicks (if you're wondering what the clicks I'm talking about are, roll down your windows and turn the key to the ACC position..you'll hear them), and if the car has been running for a few minutes, and you turn the key to ACC, it will stay on until a door is opened, or until you turn they key to OFF. It's not something that needs to be fixed, I mean, the car is totally driveable and everything, just it's bugging the crap out of me. All this just because I wanted a neat little "Sport" lamp on the dash to light up...
