Is there a way to clean the lens on my deck in my car. I don't want to take it apart but if I have to I will. I have tried those cleaning cd's with the brush and all but still the same. I have also had my cds cleaned or resurfaced. Still have a lot of skipping even on brand new cds. Should I just get a new deck or what?

What type of deck is it? Wait...just saw it was an eclipse from you signature. I'd either take it in to a shop and have a pro clean it, or just buy an new one. I love my eclipse speakers, but I'm not too familiar with their decks.

The cleaning CD's should work. It could be that the lens on your HU has gone out of alignment. This happens to my Panasonic discman once in a while (6 years old in a month) I just take it to a shop back home and the guy gets it aligned for me. The other time it happened was when the track for the lens became stripped (this is the problem the original Playstations were having, causing people to run them upside down) last year and that caused alot of skipping. In both cases the repair was cheaper than getting a new CD player. I use the discman when I'm running or when I go somewhere in the Jetta
