I may be able to get hold of an OBDII scanner. How do I go about getting the code from my 96SE? Thanks.

find the D shaped socket on the left side of the driver's foot well. plug the scanner in, read the codes

Like alex said.... Its under the dashboard on the left hand side, the plug itself faces towards the fron of the car, so you have to be a contortionist to see the damn thing.

The plug faces straight down on our '96 as it did on our '97. Far left under dash.
