I am looking for a second set of 17" wheels with 7.5" width for track use. I am looking for fairly light weight(20 lbs) and looking for ones that are available with 45mm offset so that I can run some good R compund tires. This would only be for track use. I have seen that Toyo RA1 and Yoko A032 are available in 235 40 17. Are there any other either 225 or 235 road race tires out there? Also I do not want to break the bank on this (no $400 wheels). ANy opinions would be appreciated.

Thx all

I'll suggest a Kosei K-1 wheel from the Tire Rack. I use these for my summer wheels. 17x7.5" weighs 16.7lbs, and they are under $200 per wheel. For a good tire, look at a Kumho Ecsta 700, available in 235/40R17.

Not quite a SVT Contour, but the next best thing.... 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GLS Borla exhaust, Baer brakes, Koni struts, and some other good stuff.

Ditto. Gotta be the best bang-for-buck lightweight wheel out there.

You can get O.Z. Superleggera's (17" are 15.5#) for $280 each.

That's what I have.

Thx for the tips. I really am not a fan of that wheel but hey if it is light and it works....
Do you know the offset of the wheel? I would need something like 42+ if I am going to run 235 40 17. I am looking for MAXIMUM grip. I am aiming squarely at Cobras on the race track.
