I was wondering if can run 235/40/18 on my new 18X7.5 rims without rubbing problems. I have a stock svt and I might lower it just a bit if I need to. Thanks so much for your help.

I would think 235's might be pushing it. Wheel offset is critical. There are a few folks around with 225/40-18's that have rubbing issues. Not to mention this size is a bit oversize, diameter-wise.

I'm running 225/40-18s and had some rubbing issues - had to roll and cut fenders.

Like ABCarr said, 235 might be pushing it.

Hmm, So even 225's rub. Is this rubbing mainly when there is alot of weight in the car or is the rubbing constant. Also would it be better to go with a 225/35/18 instead of the 225/40/18 so I stay at the same diameter.

The only time you might rub - with stock or aftermarket suspension - will be when you go over bumps, through dips, have a lot of weight in the car, etc.

I still have a little rubbing with the fender well lining, but not much.

Can't say whether or not you should go with 40s or 35s - depends on the style of wheel really. I think my wheels would look a little funky with 35s.

Thanks My friend. I was just conecerded with throwing off the speedo, and I was wondering if it would effect the acceleration by having a larger diameter.
